Well, it’s really tough to invest in anything, given that we’re all going to be dead in under a hundred years, isn’t it? I mean, why bother/ We’re all going to be dust again so soon?
A story is a story. You’re either interested in it or not, and either is fine. If you are interested, you’ll read it. But when you ask about things like “bothering”, you seem to be asking for a permanence that simply isn’t a part of fiction or a part of life.
Relax! It’s all good! Stuff happens! Embrace change!
Why is it so hard for some fans to just enjoy the stories as they’re happening?
You *can’t* keep telling the same stories with the same characters ALL the time, so it’s GOOD to mix things up once in awhile. It’s GOOD to try the old mantle on with new characters/variations. It’s GOOD to send Thor off on a bit of soul searching and reevaluate himself, and for the *readers* to do the same.
And SO WHAT if it’s undone? Does that mean the stories being told are crap? Not necessarily, but that’s up to each individual reader.
And if it is undone, hey, THAT’S good too! They’ve created this new character that you hopefully love and have invested in and is hopefully still around! (If she’s popular, she surely will be!) So she’s there, existing, doing her thing. AND the old favourite Thor everyone loves is there AS WELL! And he’s Thor again! But now there’s MORE characters!
Again I say…EVERYBODY WINS.
