it doesn’t bother me per se, I’m just not even remotely interested in it. But the folks who are typically will try to coerce me into such a conversation, so that they can club their like-minded friends who have a different opinion on the relative strength levels of the Hulk and the Thing with whatever I’ve said. And then those friends come around here all angry about it, quoting reference from past issues and trying to get me to recant. And on and on it goes. And I simply do not care about the argument. So I’m happy for folks for whom this is an important and involving question to be free to discuss and debate it to their heart’s content elsewhere. I just don’t need to be a part of that conversation.
My answer to any ‘who would win’ conversation, has always been something along the lines of, “Whomever the writer needs to win for the story he’s trying to tell." So much of the medium is reading about the underdog trying to find a way to overcome and win the day, right?
In a medium where they can write a story that has Aunt May defeating Galactus, ANYONE can defeat ANYONE, under the right circumstances. And a good writer can always craft a good story around finding those methods.
